The Milledge’s family goes back over generations smuggling barrels of ‘genever’ Gin across the English Channel from France to Dorset. Under the cover of night and using the family fishing vessels the journey was equal parts dangerous and exhilarating.
The smuggled contraband would be packaged and sold from the family’s liquor merchants store and distributed near and far.
